【句子分析】
1) 该句是由what引导的主语从句作主语,单个的句子作主语时谓语动词用单数形式。What还可以引导宾语从句、表语从句以及同位语从句等名词性从句。
2) remain在句中作谓语,是系动词,它的用法很多,请同学们根据以下例句来巩固记忆。
① vi. (不及物动词) 剩下,遗留;逗留
Nothing remained in my room except the old piano.
我的房间里除了一架旧钢琴什么都没留下。
The little boy begged his mother to remain at home instead of going to work.
这个小男孩央求他的妈妈待在家不去工作。
② link-v. 系动词
a. 后接名词作表语,表示“仍然是”
Most of my friends have turned to doing business, but I remained a teacher.
我的许多朋友都下海经商了,但我仍然还是一名老师。
b. 后接形容词作表语,表示“保持”,相当于keep / stay
Whatever great progress you have made, you should remain modest.
无论你取得多大的进步你都应该保持谦虚的态度。
c. remain to be done留待以后去做 remain to be seen 有待证实
A lot of problems remain to be settled. 许多问题有待解决。
It remains to be seen whether you are right. 你是否正确,以后见分晓。
